A healthy body results in a healthy mind, this is true of almost all animal species, and just as you benefit from regular exercise, so will your pup. Exercise is beneficial for all dogs, young or old; you just need to adjust the amount of exercise to suit your dog's age and fitness level. Exercise not only benefits all dogs on a physical level, but it will help him on a mental level too. A dog that doesn't get enough exercise will not only run the risk of developing health issues such as obesity, heart disease and arthritis, he will also develop various behavioural issues. Lack of exercise results in boredom and frustration, the dog may try to deal with these feelings by developing destructive patterns of behaviour such as aggression and destructive behaviours such as excessive barking, digging and escaping.
Our aim is to provide a service which maintains a happy, healthily and active dog, we will teach your dog to behave calmly in public and on walks and give them the right amount of exercise that your dog needs. Life is hectic and as much as we promise ourselves that we will make time for our beloved pets, sometimes everything else just seems to get in the way. Rather than feeling guilty that your dog is home alone, why not use the services of a dog walker to break up his day and give him some exercise? We’re not restricted to just dogs as we will visit any animal that needs some company or care. It’s common sense that dogs need exercise, not just for physical or health reasons but for mental stimulation. There has been numerous articles in the press lately regarding dogs being left alone all day…
"For a dog to be mentally stable, you must take your dog for daily walks to release mental and physical energy… A lack of exercise, allowing the build up of the mental energy which a proper walk releases can cause many behavioural problems in a dog — such as, but not limited to, hyper activity, neurotic, and/or obsessive compulsive behaviours, which are signs of a dog who is not mentally stable. An unstable dog is not a happy dog. Excitement in a dog is NOT a sign of happiness. Dogs who act very excitedly when their humans come home are showing signs of a lack of exercise. All dogs, regardless of size or breed, need to be taken on daily walks, jogs, runs, bike rides, rollerblading, any means you have to get your dog moving. Taking your dog for a walk is an important ritual in keeping your dog mentally stable. A dog, as an animal, is a walker/traveller by instinct. Packs of dogs get up in the morning and walk. Simply having a large back yard or taking your dog to the dog park is not going to satisfy this instinct in your dog"
